“Actually, ALL applicants to the 2017 PBA Draft were selected.
There were officially 44 entrants to this batch, but it was later determined that Jeremiah de la Peña (6’1” listed from “San Beda”) was deemed to have gotten through the screening process and was stricken from the official just after the PBA Draft Combine went underway.”

“There was much talk surrounding San Miguel Beer’s acquisition of the top pick overall in the 2017 PBA Rookie Draft from the Kia Picanto. There were negative comments on social media and even from other teams in the PBA as they felt that adding the number one pick overall to a team that is already loaded with the reigning four-time PBA Most Valuable Player and his three other fellow Beermen who are also part of the Mythical First Team would hurt the parity of the league.”
