Gilas pulls away late to fend off hard-fighting Chinese Taipei by Sid Ventura
Gilas Pilipinas found itself in an early hole and in a dogfight for most of the game before finally putting away a pesky Chinese Taipei side, 90-83, in the 2019 FIBA World Cup Asian Qualifiers at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.
Jayson Castro again led the way for gilas with 20 points, while June Mar Fajardo added 17. Naturalized player Quincy Davis III had 20 for the visitors, but only four in the second half.
